Bach Custom Joinery

Bach Custom Joinery builds one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and draws influence from things like tall and small buildings, typography, pre-war machinery and most importantly the space where the piece is actually going to live. Though lots of our pieces incorporate moving parts and modern materials, our fundamentals are derived from handcrafted, solid wood and centuries-old joinery techniques.

Besides singular pieces, we do fabrication work for architects, contractors and homeowners, including cabinetry and large installation pieces, again, influenced by and designed for each specific space, and built with the goal of creating cool and unique interiors.

Our furniture resides in private homes all over the US and we've built gigantic installations including bars, booths and tables for fancy restaurants around Chicago. We've also been featured in Fine Woodworking's Design Book 8, as part of the group show Chicago's Furniture Forward in 2006 and have appeared in design blogs MoCo Loco and Design*Sponge.
